ACCREDITATIONS

Following recent training, TRS is now accredited to work on Fonterra sites and looks forward to a mutually beneficial association with Fonterra.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE

TRS' Drug and Alcohol Policy ensures that our employees are drug and alcohol free.  We work closely with the New Zealand Drug Detection Agency to maintain this policy by conducting regular, random tests.

TRS' ASSOCIATION WITH LPINZ LTD

In February 2010 TRS formed an association with LPINZ Ltd, the New Zealand branch of Lightning Protection International Pty Ltd (known in the market as LPI), based in Hobart, Tasmania. 

LPI manufacture and supply direct strikelightning, surge and transient protection equipment and earthing solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the world.

TRS' association with LPI enables us to design, supply and install earthing systems for buildings, towers and other structures.

ACCEPTANCE AS AN IQP (INDEPENDENTLY QUALIFIED PERSON)

As of 12th October 2009, TRS is qualified to undertake the inspection and maintenance of Building Maintenance Units (BMUs).

This will be of great benefit to our current and future clients, complementing our existing height safety expertise.

STAFF UPSKILLING

Quieter times provide a perfect opportunity for our staff to spend some time upskilling, attending Dogman and truck-mounted crane training at Tai Poutini Polytech.

Brent Clyde from Contract Connections spent a very interesting four hours refreshing our staff on Cadwelding - two hours of theory and two hours of practical.

EME TRAINING

TRS conducted in house EME (electromagnetic energy) training, with a presentation by Simon Cooke-Willis, RF Compliance Manager for Telecom, on the existing and new XT network.

POUTU GROUND BLESSING

TRS staff attended a ground blessing ceremony at Poutu in anticipation of further development at the site.

Alan Jacobs is Operations Manager for TRS and has over 29 years experience within the Telecommunications and Broadcast industries in New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia.

Alan is also our current in-house Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) specialist, with over 7 years in various roles in this area, including:

• Involvement in the design and implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in New Zealand
• Electromagnetic Radiation Surveyor and Antenna Technician in Australia for over 5 years

Alan has completed over 400 Electromagnetic Radiation Structure Surveys and Reports in both New Zealand and Australia.

Major Projects

• Team Leader for the green field sites on the New Zealand Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) project
• Data Upload Manager for Carter Holt Harvey's Wood Products SAP full suite implementation of plants and offices in New Zealand and Australia
• Field Engineer for Telecom New Zealand International's Sri Lanka 150,000 line project - detailed design, contract administration and implementation.
